HISTORIC FARMHOUSE AVAILABLE TO BE MOVED

The Nemours Foundation seeks proposals interested in moving the William Murphy House from its current location, 1601 Rockland, Road, Wilmington, DE to a new location. The Foundation will donate this c.1840, stone farmhouse with approximately 2,000 square feet of usable space to a qualified applicant.

Final deadline for proposals is May 15, 2011, and the relocation of the house must be completed before June 30, 2011.

Proposal must include the following:

• All bidders to provide proof satisfactory to the Nemours Foundation that they have an acceptable and adequate location for the placement of the house.
• All bidders to provide proof satisfactory to the Nemours Foundation that they have the ability to engage and will engage the services of a house mover with experience relocating historic houses and capable of successfully relocating the house.
• All bidders to provide proof satisfactory to the Nemours Foundation that the house mover has insurance in place to cover damage or injury to or destruction of the house during the move and the subsequent relocation of the house.
• All bidders to provide proof satisfactory to the Nemours Foundation that the successful bidder is adequately insured in connection with the relocation of the house.
• All bidders to sign a waiver an release of liability in favor of the Nemours Foundation pertaining to the house and relocation thereof.
• Acknowledgement by the bidders that the house is being conveyed “AS IS/WHERE IS” and that no representations or warranties of any kind are being offered by the Nemours Foundation as to the condition, usability, or its ability to be relocated

The Nemours Foundation reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals at its sole discretion and reserves the right to make such decisions at any tie before May 15, 2011, and to withdraw its RFP at any time.
