Tourist season is here. House museums are counting on summertime visitor fees to help pay for maintenance against wintertime weather assaults (and more).
Invite the public, engage the public, make friends with the public. How? Check out The Participatory Museum by Nina Simon and her blog, Museum 2.0 (see also blogroll in sidebar) (Well, and my thesis might give you some ideas — see blogroll.)

Write the ‘mouse’ book. Pleassse 😉 Sabra – after reading your posts, musings descriptions, etc. on this site, I can only imagine it would be a wonderful read – for children AND adults!
The idea came to me on a tour of a Philadelphia historic house that did nothing to engage my young companion. I wished there were small paintings of a mouse in various rooms for him to seek out, and maybe a small booklet about life in the house long ago. I can’t claim the idea to be completely original, as Robert Lawson wrote “Ben & Me: An Astonishing Life of Benjamin Franklin by His Good Mouse Amos” in 1939. The book is still available and it’s even been Disneyfied into a cartoon version.
